Day Description: I will meet you directly at the airport arrival hall with a name sign. We begin our journey inland toward the Cultural Triangle. Our first stop is Pinnawala to see the elephants near the riverbanks. Afterwards, we explore the UNESCO-listed Dambulla Cave Temple with its ancient rock paintings and giant Buddha statues. In the evening, we drive to Sigiriya and check into your hotel.

Day Description: We beat the heat with an early morning climb up Sigiriya Rock Fortress (Lion Rock) to enjoy ancient frescoes and summit views. Next, experience local rural life with a Sigiriya village tour—including an ox-cart ride, catamaran boat trip, and a home-cooked Sri Lankan lunch on banana leaves. In the afternoon, we hop into a 4x4 safari jeep at Minneriya National Park (or Eco Park/Kaudulla depending on elephant movements) to spot large wild elephant herds.

Day Description: After breakfast, we drive south toward Kandy. En route in Matale, we visit the colorful Sri Muthumariamman Hindu Kovil to admire its ornate tower architecture. Upon reaching Kandy, we visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa) by Kandy Lake. In the evening, watch a lively Kandyan cultural dance and fire-walking performance.

We then ascend into the cool tea country, stopping at the roaring Ramboda Falls viewpoint for photos. Next, visit a working Ceylon tea factory to see how fresh leaves are processed and enjoy a tea tasting session. In the late afternoon, we arrive in "Little England"—Nuwara Eliya.

As we descent out of the mountains toward the southern dry zone, we pull over at the roaring Ravana Waterfalls. After lunch, we reach Yala National Park for an afternoon 4x4 open-top jeep safari to search for Sri Lankan leopards, sloth bears, wild elephants, and crocodiles.

Day Description: Sleep in and enjoy a relaxed morning by your Yala resort pool after yesterday's safari. Take advantage of a late check-out around 2:00 PM. We then take a pleasant drive along the southern coast straight to the lively beach town of Mirissa. Settle into your hotel and enjoy fresh seafood by the ocean at sunset.
